South

My road would rise

And climb to heights

Under the blue

My shadow dropped

And pulled to make its flight

As bloody red

Streaked across the sky

And I met you on the horizon

As day turned into night

The wild nights with you

Were short but all divine

Then summer faded

The heat was lost in time

So I went south with you

To recapture all the things

We thought we’d never find

If I explain it, what good does it do?
